I absolutely love the architecture of the late Victorian and Edwardian properties in the picturesque, village-like area of Queen’s Park, which is one of the most important historic areas in Brent. Characterised by its unified urban layout, it looks even more remarkable by the high level of building preservation thanks to its Conservation Area status.
The park itself is an excellent example of a Victorian urban green space, with the bandstand a Grade II Listed building. Today the park is still a green oasis with tennis courts, a petting zoo, pitch and putt course, and excellent playground with paddling pool.
Popular with creative professionals and celebrities alike, the sense of community seen in many North West London areas continues to delight me here. As a family we love to visit Queen’s Park Day, and annual event with stalls set up in the park to celebrate, followed by a stroll and shop around the award-winning farmers market.
